Ancient idols found near Rajouri, thousand pay obeisance

Thousands of men, women and children of Rajouri today assembled at village Mankote, some 5 kilometers from here to have a glimpse of ancient religious idols which were found in the village today.
After hearing that some ancient religious idols have been found at cave near Rajouri, people from all walks of life rushed to the site and a havan was also performed there.
Devotees after coming out of the cave said that idols of Shiva, Shesh Nag, Ganesh and other idols were present inside the cave.
To check the credibility of these idols senior army officers, civil authorities and archeological expert Dr,Nzakat Hussain also inspected the spot and took stock of the situation.
Later speaking to the media person Assistant Commissioner Revenue (A C R ), Rajouri, Kewal Krishan Sharma assured that they will extend all type of help for preserving these historical and religious idols . Besides one column of police perssonel was deputed to control the devotees and arranging them into lines .
It is pertinent to mention here that this unvisited and deserted cave was discovered some days earlier, when one Bodh Raj, a local resident entered the cave following a rabbit in this forest.
Once he was inside the cave, Bodh Raj was startled to find religious idols in the cave.
On his return, he recited the whole story to the villagers, who personally went to

Thereafter, a steady stream of five to six thousand people have been visiting this cave to have glimpse of the idols.
When contacted Dr Nazakat Hussain Professor of archeology in Degree College, Rajouri , the media persons told that these idols are not man made and look natural. He was of the opinion that the exact age can be calculated by carbon dating. He added that sedimentation of rocks may not form such like structure in the shape of idols which are quite resembling the Shiva family.
