JKTUF hails Roshni act, demands settlement of Gujjars and Bakerwals

Jammu and Kashmir Tribal United Forum (JKTUF) have appreciated the enactment of Roshni Act by the coalition Govt. and have demanded for the adoption of same procedure for the permanent settlement of 10 lakh Gujjars and Bakerwals of the state as big chunk of tribal population in J&K state even after sixty years of independent is landless and houseless.
State Gen. Secretary, Akram Qasmi demanded that government should formulate separate tribal directorate for proper monitoring and implementation of all the center sponsored scheme for the upliftment of the tribal in the state, inclusion of Gojri language in 8th schedule, to provide residential schools for tribal girls at block level for better education of female children.
Other who were present on the occasion were M. Hanief Kalar, M. Sudiq Azad, Nissar Lodi, Master Liaqat Ali, Sheraz Ahmed, Gh. Azam, Ali Hassan and others.
