JAMMU FEB-17 The protest demonstration by the ousted class IV employees of the Excise and Commercial Tax Department, in support of their demand for permanent absorption, continued for the 17th consecutive day here today. State President of the Association Adil Rashid Khan has impressed upon the government to order absorption of the ousted employees at the earliest and sought Chief Minister’s personal intervention in solving the burning problem of the ousted employees. He said that 285 employees in the Agriculture Department, who too were appointed in the similar circumstances as that of the ousted employees, have already been regularized by a decision of the state cabinet as back as in 2003 and hoped that the genuine demand of the ousted employees would also be acceded to by the government on humanitarian grounds. Those who spoke to the agitating employees were Rafiq Qazi, General Secretary, Mohammed Akbar senior vice president, Riaz Ahmed vice president, Pritam Singh joint secretary, Hafizullah Bhat, Charanjeet Ram, Lalit Kumar, Ajay Sharma, Mudasir Mir, Sanjay Dogra, Rakesh Dogra, Surinder Kumar, Abdul Maid and Mohammed Abdullah.
