| early times report Kathua, Jan1: A deputation of Kathua Vikas Manch (KVM) called on District Development Commissioner Zahida Parveen Khan here and expressed their concern over increasing rate in encroachment, pollution, thefts and drug addiction in the district. The delegation led by Prof Ram Murti Sharma sought attention of the DDC the prohibition of parking of vehicles on newly constructed bridge near Jarai Chowk, removal of encroachment from the footpaths along recently constructed lanes, drains and roads, beautification of strip between canal and link road from Gurudwara Sawan Chak to Kuka Chak in the shape of strips, lawns, plantations and electrifications preferably with the co-operation of NGO's and Industrial Unit Operators, proper implementation of JNNURM programme or other allied schemes, provision of Zebra Crossings and flash lights on Kali Bari - Hatli Morh Road and curbing the increasing rate of thefts and drug addiction. The members expressed deep concern over alleged casual approach of the authorities regarding the implementation of pollution control rules and norms. The DDC assured the delegation that their "genuine" demands would be fulfilled. Later the KVM deputation also called on additional SSP Kathua to bring the culprits involved in malpractices to task. |
