Some political parties, bureaucrats creating hurdles in settlement of Refugees: Manjit

Vijaypur, Jan 1: Senior Congress leader and former Minister S Manjit Singh on Tuesday accused some vested interest political parties and bureaucrats in Jammu and Kashmir have been allegedly creating hurdles in settlement of displaced persons.
Former Minister Singh, while addressing party workers at Party office Vijaypur, said even if the Central government has asked the State Government to provide details and other required things regarding the settlement of the refugees, but no response from the J&K was given.
"It indicates that some of the political parties, for political reasons, did not want to settle the displaced persons of 1965, 1971 and PoK refugees, he said.
He said that during their visit to national capital New Delhi with a delegation and they called on the Prime Minster of India Dr Manmohan Singh, Union Home Minister Shushil Kumar Shinde and Union Defence Minister A K Antony and projected the demands of the refugees and displaced persons.
Congress Leader said the Govt of India is keen to settle the Refugees' issue despite some hurdles put forth by some vested elements. He also hailed the Jammu Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) president and Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz and Member Parliament (MP) Madan Lal Sharma for highlighting the demands of the refugees and displaced persons so that their demands could be fulfilled without further delay.
He however threatened that the government should resolve the issues of the refugees and should not force them (refugees) to come on the roads. Besides raising refugees's demands, Singh demanded that special recruitment drive must be launched for the recruitment of the unemployed youth in the Kandi and border belt of Jammu division. Senior leader Dr Satpaul, Distt Vice president Babbal Gupta, Sain Dass Bhagat, Col Swarn Singh, Vijay Choudhary, Tirath Bhagat , Yashpal Choudhary, Lect Parshotam Sharma, Varinder Sharma, Shamshar Singh Jamwal, Sandoor Singh, Panch Manga Ram, Sai Dass Bhagat , Sarpanch Natha Ram, Sarpanch Sham Lal Bhagat, Surat Singh, Naib Sarpanch Sujjan Singh and etc.
