| BCC holds monthly meeting of workers | | |  early times report
Hiranagar, Jan1: Block Congress Committee Hiranagar today organized the monthly meeting under the Presidentship of Sh Bishan Dass Sangra. Large number of people including Sarpanches and Panches participated in the meeting in which various issues were discussed. Sh Subash Chander Gupta and Sh Sham Lal Bhagat were the chief Guests.
Speaking on the occasion various Sarpanches/ Panches demanded for the implementation of 73rd, 74th amendment of the constitution. They demanded for the empowerment of Panchayats for the true realization of the dream of Prime Minister Late. Sh Rajiv Gandhi. Besides this the following demanded were put forward by the Sarpanches and Panches, sanctioning of pending case for old age pension, Inclusion of BPL families in BPL category, Timely procurement of Paddy by the Government on approved rates, Proper utilization of BADP funds as per the guidelines of central government.
While addressing the meeting Sh Subash Chander Gupta Member Legislative Council and President District Congress Committee Kathua said that the Congress is working for the betterment of poor and downtrodden sections of society under the able leadership of Smt Sonia Gandhi. He assured the public that all the genuine demands will be fulfilled in time bound manners.
Sh Shal Lal Bhagat MLC thanks the Sarpanches and Panches for showing their confidence in him and in Congress leadership.
He said he will fight for the cause of Panchayat Raj in the state. He assured the gathering that 73 amendment of the constitution will be implemented soon and the Panchayats will be empowered in order to meet the expectation of the public. He also advocated for the early election of Block development Council and Municipal Committee in the state.
