| Reversion of senior teacher challenged | | HC orders status-quo be maintained | | Jammu, Feb 17, 2007
First Puisne Judge of the State High Court Justice Nissar Ahmed Kakru, in a writ petition challenging the reversion of 19 senior grade teachers in the grade of Rs.5500-9000, ordered that till next date of hearing their shall be status-quo in respect of impugned order in so far as it relates to the petitioner and issued notice against State of J&K through Chief Secretary, Secretary to School Education Department, Director School Education Jammu, CEO Jammu and ZEO Bhalwal for filling objections.
This direction was passed in a writ petition filed by Mrs. Parkash Kumari in which Advocate DS Chouhan appeared for the petitioner and submitted that the petitioner was promoted along with other 45 trained undergraduate teachers as senior teacher in the pay scale of Rs.5500-9000 with effect from May 25, 2005, the date from their junior trained under graduate teachers were promoted. Vide order December 1, 2006 issued by the Director School Education Jammu sanction was accorded to the cancellation of promotion of 19 senior teachers/ promotes, promoted under SC Category. The petitioner challenged the said order on various ground and sought quashment of the said order.
