| CJ lays foundation stone of additional block for Baramulla Court | | | Jammu, Feb 17
Chief Justice State High Court, Justice Bashir Ahmed Khan today laid the foundation stone for additional block for District Court complex Baramulla, being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs.61 lakhs.
Addressing at the function Chief Justice made it clear that infrastructure provided for judiciary must get priority by the Government so that the suffering people get speedy and inexpensive justice at their door steps. ‘Prompt disposal of cases is imperative for speedy justice, the Chief Justice maintained. He thanked the Government that despite financial constraints it has given priority in the matter of providing funds to judiciary for creating necessary infrastructure.
Earlier, a warm welcome was given to the Chief Justice on his arrival in the town. Superintending Engineer Public Works Department assured Chief Justice that whole project will be completed within one year.
Among others who attended the function included Registrar Hasnain Masoodi of State High Court, Principal Secretary to CJ, Principal District and Sessions Judge and CJM Baramulla, Judges of the Subordinate Judiciary, District Development Commissioner, SSP, ADC and other officers of the District.
