Seniority, experience, political acumen and talent, these are the salient features which National conference chief Omar Abdullah is looking for before short listing names of party nominees for the upcoming elections to the legislative council.
Responding to a question on the choice of candidates party is looking for, NC chief made it clear in the presence of large number of party leaders, and aspirants for the upper house seats that National conference leadership is yet to make a final decision claiming that no such decision has been taken in this regard.” I have a long list of 20 names from Kashmir region and more than that from Jammu region but preference will be given to those candidates who fullfil the criteria set by the party highcommand. NC is a responsible opposition party and we are looking out for experience,seniority and political acumen in a candidate who can hold our flag high in the upper house, Omar said raising speculations among party men as to who will finally win the rat race.
