| 17 shops, Horticulture office gutted in fire | | | Srinagar | Feb17
Seventeen shops and four rooms of Horticulture office were gutted in two different incidents of fire at Anantnag and Pulwama during the last 24 hours.
According to reports, fire broke out in ‘Smith’ restaurant near taxi stand, old DPO Anantnag which engulfed the entire complex of the restaurant. A total of 14 shops, six godowns, four rooms of horticulture office and the restaurant itself were damaged in the incident. No loss of life or injury to anyone was caused in the incident and the cause of fire has not been ascertained as yet.
Meanwhile, three more shops were gutted at village Hunneypora Wanpora, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Pulwama due to electric short circuit. No loss of life or injury to anyone was reported in the incident. Police has taken the cognizance of both the fire incidents and started investigations.
