Time ripe for taking serious steps for reviving J&K economy by declaring state as prestigious trade zone: Hakeem

JAMMU, February 18
Thousand of office bearers and other workers associated with PDF established at Sheikh-ul-Alam (RA) Hall at Budgam to listen the address of Chairman PDF Hakim Mohammad Yaseen. The PDF which is committed for restoration of everlasting peace in the J&K State and to also usher the state towards economic supremacy in the subcontinent keeping in view its strategic importance as an ideal economic zone.
Hakeen Yaseen while addressing the rally amidst the cheers and slogans said that PDF believes that people of state particularly people of valley have suffered during last several decades, which has caused irreparable damage to its economy besides loss of property and lives. Mr. Yaseen said that time has come to strengthen the pillars of peace and take guidance from all previous agreements and negotiations which were aimed to restore peace, dignity and honour of the people.
Mr. Yaseen said that what PDF was advocating from its inception, now everyone seems to be convinced by the same. He said by declaring borders irrelevant and opening of Kashmir Valley for full scale trade it will definitely assume the importance of being centre of trade activity with Pakistan, China and other countries. He said that economy will have for reaching effect not only to help to repair the damage which our state has suffered but it will also be beneficial for both the countries. He said now voice of time is peace, peace and only peace and all should respond this call.
Referring to the development scenario of the Budgam Constituency, the Minister said that the government has taken several projects in the area including construction of a 300 MV capacity grid station costing Rs.80 lakh which on completion would help in streamlining the distribution of power supply in the area. He said that during recent years several road projects and other development schemes have been taken up in Budgam Constituency under various state and centrally sponsored schemes. Many works in PHE, Irrigation, Power and other sectors have also been started in the area, he said, besides strengthening basic infrastructure in education institutions and Health sector.
The convention also deliberated upon various policy matters of PDF and reiterated that all co-operation would be extended to the coalition government for implementation of the CMP. Senior leaders of the Front were also present on the occasion.
