| 4-Day Maha Shivratri Shiv Khori Mela conclude | | | UDHAMPUR, February 18 The historic 4 day Maha Shivratri Shiv Khori Mela duly organized by the Shri Shiv Khori Shrine Board in collaboration with Tourism Department at Shiv Khori-Ransoo in Pouni block of tehsil Reasi in the Udhampur district concluded yesterday. Despite rains and hailstorm, over 80,000 devotees from with in and outside the state pay obeisance at the historic shiv khori shrine cave during the mela days to seek blessing of lord Shiva. Last year over 53,000 devotees had darshan of lord Shiva during the mela days but this year the number of pilgrims increased about 27,000 especially during mela days. The Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Mr. O.P.Kalandria who is also the chairman of Shri Shiv Khor shrine board and Tehsildar Reasi, Mr. Ashok Kumar Sharma acting presently as Member Secretary had made elaborate arrangements of security, drinking water, electricity, medicare, barricading, sanitation and yatra slip counters with proper public address system by the Information department during the mela days from Ransoo the base camp to Shiv Khori Shrine cave for the facilities of visiting devotees. The department of Youth Services and Sports, Udhampur with Tourism department and District Information Centre, Udhampur arranged scintillating cultural programmes for the entertainment of general public at Ransoo during the mela days which were highly appreciated and compelled the audience for repeated applause. The employees posted for providing every facility during the mela days to the visiting pilgrims performed their duties with extra ordinary spirit and determination for the entire satisfaction and good expression of devotees for spreading the message of sanctity and religious importance of this historic Shiv Khori cave at all corners of the country.
