Jammu, Jan 8 : The annual urs and shobha yatra of the Pavitar Chadhar of Dargah Sharif Baba Lashman Shah Wali, Valmiki Colony, Gandhi Nagar here was held recently with a large number of religious, social and political leaders participating in it.
The 'Chadhar' laying ceremony was performed with religious procedure by the Chief Guest MLC Asgar Ali alongwith Capt. Anil Gour, Shyam Singhand Mahant Baba Kuk Ram.
Earlier an impressive shobha yatra of the religious "Chaddhar" was flagged off from Valmiki Chowk and passed through the main roads of Gandhi Nagar, Nanak Nagar, Shivaji Chowk and culminated at Darghah Sharif Baba Lashman Shah Wali. The yatra was led by Mahant Baba Kuk Ram alongwith Peer Maheshi Shah of Batala, Peer Kartar Shah of Dhariwal, Peer Sukhdev Shah of Hoshiarpur and Peer Rashi Shah of Peer Mitha along-with a larger number of religious leaders from the various states of Punjab, Himachal, Haryana, UP. The yatra was accompanied by thousands of people from Valmiki Colony and the various parts of Jammu city & the state singing religious hymns & beating of drums. |
