| IGP expresses concern over incident | | CRPF distances from Pulwama firing | | Saahil Suhail anantnag, Jan 8: While expressing concern over the Pulwama firing incident, Inspector General of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), S S Sindhu today ruled out any possible involvement of CRPF in the incident in which eleven people got injured and paralyzed life in the town for many days. Talking to media on the sidelines of a function here in South Kashmir's Anantnag district after inaugurating training camp for unemployed youths willing to Join CRPF, Inspector General of Central Reserve Police Force said, "Pulwama firing incident and Pulwama encounter are two separate incidents, we have nothing to do with Pulwama firing incident in which civilians got injured and don't link CRPF with that incident." Adding CRPF was part of only Pulwama encounter in which two or three civilians got injured. He said that encounter spot is more than thirteen Kilometres far away from Pulwama Chowk were firing incident took place. Expressing serious concern over the Pulwama firing incident, he said. "I wouldn't like to go in depth but will say that CRPF every time during these operations is trying to safe guard the public property and civil lives." When asked, which agency is responsible for the incident, IG CRPF refused to comment, However he said, "Government has ordered a probe in the incident so let's wait and see but i can't comment." IG CRPF, S S Sindhu accompanied by several other officers also maintained his earlier statement on militancy, said, "there are only 100 militants in the valley including OWG'S and others but the level of militancy is volatile as it go up and down and there is nothing to worry about it as security agencies are ready to fight against them." |
