Submit report in one year, NMC to 6th pay commission

Demanding that 6th Pay Commission submit its report in one year instead of 18 months, National Mazdoor conference has appealed the prime minister to grant interim relief to employees on the day of presentation of next year Union Budget.
Addressing a largely attended rally of NMC activists here today, Subash Shastri president NMC said that 18 months period for submission of the report by the pay panel is too long as the prices are soaring unabated and salary hike affect to save the working class from economic hardships. He said till final report comes, a comprehensive package of interim relief is imperative along with presentations of annual union budget with provision for providing special funds by the centre to all states to bear this expenditure of granting interim relief to their employees and pensioners.
Shastri further urged Dr. Manmohan Singh to provide special financial package to Jammu and Kashmir State for meeting expenditure for providing DA installments, Interim relief and implementing 6th pay commission report for the employees as a special case.
He also urged for according B-1 status to both Jammu and Srinagar capital cities of states.
Lauding employees-friendly policies and approach of Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, Shastri hoped that Jammu and Kashmir under his dynamic and able leadership would be the first state in the country to implement new pay scale and granting other incentives in one go.
Pleading the cause of working class, Shastri also demanded regularization of all Daily wagers (Casual Labourers) of Rural Development, Sericulture, Floriculture and Power Development Department, besides releasing cola installments in favour of Public Sector employees, release of 18 months salary of motivators working in the IWDP project Akhnoor and their quick regularization, deputing chairman of revenue department for Patwar training, timely payment of wages of Daily wagers, enhancement of the daily wagers from Rs. 70 to Rs. 100 per month, adjusting on vacant posts of seasonal labourers working in Irrigation Division Akhnoor, release of 47 months wages of workers of Trikuta Hills Project of Social Forestory Department, providing pending salary of Malli cum Chowkidar of RDD immediately and deputing causal Labourers of Floriculture for Gardener’s Training.
Prominent among those who also addressed the rally included Rajan Babu Khajuria, Sunil Kochhar, Sham Lal Sharma, Lalit Kumar Sharma, Puran Chand, Satpal, Barkat Ram, Narinder Bhagat, Madan Lal, Kasturi Lal, Ram Lal, Bodh Raj, Mohd. Farooq, Sukh Dev Singh, Sham Singh and others.
