PDP to demonstrate against mis-governance, corruption on Jan 21

Jammu, Jan 8: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today decided to hold demonstration on January 21 against mis-governance, rampant corruption, scams, selling of government jobs, inefficiency of the government to address day today problems of the people and erosion of the sanctity of the autonomous institutions in the State.
Decision to hold demonstration against the State Government was taken in a meeting which was held today under the chairman of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, patron of the party in which all senior leaders of the party were present.
It was also decided that PDP activists would march towards Raj Bhawan on January 21 and later submit a memorandum to the Governor.
Addressing the party workers, Mufti said that during the last four years this regime has done nothing to minimize miseries of the people. Patronizing corruption, shielding those who are involved in scams, undermining autonomous institutions are the noticeable achievements of the present regime.
Thereafter exhorting party workers to expose misdeeds and rampant corruption in the State, senior PDP leaders said during the last four years corruption has been legitimized in Jammu and Kashmir because the present regime has failed to bringing transparency and accountability in the governance.
They said that that there was rampant corruption in the State and names of some higher ups in the government have been figured in a number of corruption cases. "The corruption has been sneaked into the government from top to bottom but the anti-graft institutions like State Accountability Commission (SAC) have virtually make non functional by the government through its deceit tactics", they observed and regretted that instead of taking action against ministers who have been involved in corruption, the government has brazenly been involved into shielding corrupt elements.
Party leaders also mentioned that dilution of the powers of the State Information Commission was a clear indication that this regime was not interested to bring transparency in the governance. Senior leaders called upon the party activists to launch an aggressive campaign against misdeeds of the present dispensation.
Prominent among those who were present and addressed the meeting included Sardar Rangil Singh, Trilok Singh Bajwa, Thakur Balbir Singh, Ved Mahajan, Daman Bhasin, Choudhary Zulfikar, MLA, Sardar Rafiq Hussain Khan, MLA, Yashpal Sharma from Poonch, Surinder Choudhary, R K Bali, Falail Singh, Hussain Ali Wafa, Rashid Malik, Jagjit Singh Jagga, Bharat Bhushan Gupta, Thakur Suram Singh, Ashok Jogi and others.
Other senior leaders of the party were also present on the occasion included Capt Anil Gour, Suresh Sharma, Ashiq Hussain, Amreek Singh Reen, Rashid Malik,Chatter Saini, Gurmeet Singh Bajwa, Narinder Singh Khalsa, Bharat Choudhary, Narinder Singh Raina, Deepinder Kour, Surjeet Kour, Ashok Jogi, Rafiq Malik and others present on the occasion.
