| RAILWAY SECURITY REVIEWED AT HIGH LEVEL MEETING | | | Jammu | February 19 Railway security apparatus on the Jammu Pathankot and Jammu Udhampur section Railway line has been strengthened following train blasts in Samjhauta express on Sunday midnight near Deewana in Haryana. A separate alert has been sounded in the region to prevent repeat of any such attack. The security of the railway track and on the railway platforms was reviewed freshly during a high level meeting held here. Few preventive steps such as regulating flow of traffic outside the main entrance of the railway station, monitoring of vehicles in the parking area, regular patrolling on the railway track and on the railway platform and in the surroundings of the railway stations were discussed during the meeting. Officals of railway protection force also held a meeting and discussed security measures in view of the attack on Samjhauta express. A senior officer of the railway security said, X-ray scanners are regualry checking luggage of passengers to avoid entry of any miscreant inside the railway station besides manula frisking. |
