| Masud gets unprecedented reception on getting second term | | Would work towards making BGSBU one of the best universities in the country: VC | |

An unprecedented reception was today accorded by people from all walks of life to Mr Masud A Choudhary on his arrival here after getting a two-years extension in his tenure as Vice Chancellor of the Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University,(BGSBU) Rajouri.
Over 2,000 people from all nooks and corners of the twin districts of Rajouri and Poonch and belonging to all walks of life gathered on way to the University and at the main campus to endorse the contribution of Mr Choudhary in establishing Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University as an institution of excellence and national repute in a shortest span of time.
A rare occasion in the recent history of Rajouri, hundreds of people on motorbikes rushed to Bathuni, nearly 30 kilometers ahead of the University campus, to accord welcome to Mr Choudhary after getting second term as Vice Chancellor. From there he was taken on a motorcade to the University campus. On way to the campus from Rajouri town, hundreds of people lined up along the road holding placards and banners in their hands messages and carrying slogans hailing the Vice Chancellor for his contributions.
Most interesting sight, however, was the procession of 100 horses joining the cavalcade on way to the campus. Horse process is a traditional way of celebrations in this area.
The people who came to receive him said that Choudhary, with his unflinching work for the University has brought Rajouri and Poonch on national educational map. They also raised slogans for the Chief Minister and Chancellor of the University, Ghulam Nabi Azad for extending the term of VC and said that this will help him in continuing the good work he is doing from past three years.
Later addressing to a gathering, Vice Chancellor Masud Choudhary thanked for the support people of Rajouri have given to him in establishing the University. He said that this was a pleasant surprise for him and is overwhelmed by the support the people have shown towards him.
He added that the people of Rajouri have contributed a lot to bring up this University and he is trying his best to make this Institution one of the best in the country. He further added that no stone will be left unturned to make sure that the University reaches the heights as dreamt by the people of Rajouri and Poonch. |
