| Reject extremists in polls: Mush | | | ISLAMABAD | FEB 19 President Pervez Musharraf has asked Pakistanis to reject extremists and vote for moderates in the next general elections, saying "Fundamentalists were damaging Islam and the country."
At a public meeting in Faisalabad hours after a suicide bomb blast in Quetta killed at least 16 people, Musharraf said extremism, terrorism and sectarianism were the main hurdles in the country's progress.
Regretting that people were divided in sects, which was against the basic spirit of Islam, Musharraf said, "Fundamentalists were damaging Islam and the country""
"If you want continuity of the current policies, then cast votes in the favour of those who want to elect me," he was quoted in the media.
