| Soren fails to appear before court | | | Jamshedpur | Feb 19
JMM supremo Sibu Soren today failed to appear before the court of the first class judicial magistrate, Piyush Srivastav, in connection with a case of violation of prohibitory orders under section 144 Cr.PC in 1999.
Soren's defense lawyer Keval Kishan said that Soren had high blood pressure and the doctors had advised him complete rest.
He said that the court after considering the medical report had fixed a fresh date of his appearance on March 13.
Soren was brought to Jharkhand earlier in the first week of January for production in Jamtara court in connection with Chirudih massacre case. At that time also, the court had granted him time after a medical report was produced by the authorities of Dumka jail where Soren was lodged in connection with the three-decade-old case as well as violation of the code of conduct in Dumka.
Soren, who was sentenced to life imprionment in connection with the murder of his personal secretary, Shashinath Jha, was lodged in Tihar jail, but was brought to Jharkhand for production in the pending cases.
