| Congress corporator organizes public meeting at Roopnagar | | | JAMMU | Feb19 To create awareness about the revolutionary Roshni Act and people friendly policies of the coalition government, a social worker and Corporator of Ward No 9 Rajni Bala, who is also the President, Block Congress Committee, Muthi organized a public meeting at lower Roop Nagar here today. The meeting was attended by a large number of people of the area. Former Minister and sitting Congress MLA Mula Ram was the chief guest while Om Chopra, ex MLA and President, District Congress Committee, Jammu Urban was the guest of honour. While hailing the policies of the Congress led Government and the Chief Minister Ghulam Nazi Azad for his bold steps, the speakers apprized the gathering about the salient features of the Roshni Act aimed at to benefit the poor farmers and agriculturists. Describing the Act as a revolutionary step, the speakers said that under the Act the Government land can be transferred free of cost to the tillers. The Congress leaders gave details about the schemes and projects launched by the coalition government, especially during the last one and a half year of the Government led by Azad and impressed upon the people to strengthen the hands of Chief Minister who has vowed to bring all round development for the entire state and make Jammu and Kashmir a ‘Khushal State’. Among others who spoke on the occasion were B B Gupta, D S Lengeh, Kirtan Singh, MM Handa, Hari Singh Chib, Tallanter Singh and Som Raj. AJHLA welcome formation of committee on shifting ‘Tosh Khana’ Jammu, Feb 19- Welcoming the formation of a committee of experts by the government to suggest a suitable place for shifting of Tosh Khana valuables, presently lying in a strong room in the Civil Secretariat here and instructions by the Chief Minister for doing the same within shortest possible time, so that valuables of Dogra rulers can be put on display for general public, All Jammu Hotels and Lodges Associations, (AJHLA) has forcefully pleaded that the site for the same should be within the Mubarak Mandi complex, which is being converted into heritage centre. A meeting of the Hoteliers Associations, held here today under the chairmanship of its President Inderjeet Khajuria has demanded that the treasurer trove of Dogra rulers, which forms part of Dogra heritage, should be put on display for the general public and the tourist in a specially created museum in the Mubarak Mandi premises, under foolproof security. It has suggested that while all the art pieces, including paintings, by the modern artists should be put for display in the recently set up Kala Kendra, all antiques and rare items of ancient period should be put on display within Mubarak Mandi complex. The armaments, costumes, valuable jewelery pieces and other items of the times of Dogra ruler can be ideally displayed within Mubarak Mandi complex itself.
