| Self styled Medical practitioner charge sheeted | | Duped general public by collecting huge consultation fees | | Srinagar | Feb 19 A Srinagar based self styled Medical practitioner was charge sheeted by Crime Branch Kashmir for pretending himself to be a doctor without even completing matriculation and duping general public by collecting huge consultation fees from them. According to reports, Crime Branch Kashmir received a complaint that one Abdul Majid Sheikh, a self styled doctor was illegally practicing at his clinic at Qamarwari, Srinagar. The initial inquiry held by Crime Branch revealed that the allegations leveled against the suspect was based on facts accordingly a case under section 419, 420, 468,471 RPC. Thereafter, Crime Branch sleuths immediately carried out an organised raid at the clinic of the quack where he was found carrying out the medical check up of patients and prescribing them the medicines on prescription slips and seized the prescription slips from the clinic. Statements of some patients who were present in the clinic for seeking medical consultation from the quack practitioner were also recorded. The membership certificate issued by Rural Practitioners Association (RPA) of India, Pondicherry in favour of the quack was also seized during the raid. The certificate issued by Rural Practitioners Association of India under no. 5294 purportedly issued under the signatures of President, RMP of India Pondicherry was verified from Registrar-cum-Secretary department of ISM and LM (CCIM) Jankipura, New Delhi. On verification the said association was found totally unrecognized by the Central Council of Indian System of Medicines of New Delhi for any purpose. The investigation carried out by Crime branch made it clear that Abdul Majid Sheikh was illegally practicing in his Qamarwari clinic. Even the registration certificate seized from the clinic was registered with an unregistered agency. The aforesaid quack duped general public by collecting huge consultation fees from them. After establishing the ingredients of offences charged, the charge sheet has been presented against the accused person.
