| Attack on Advocate in court complex | | BAJ decides to abstain from courts for two days | | Jammu, Feb 19 Bar Association Jammu (BAJ) in an emergent meeting held today has condemned the attack by a litigant on a senior member of the Bar Adv KS Chib, while he was coming out of the court room after discharging professional duties. The BAJ has also impressed upon the authorities to beef up security measures in the Court premises and discourage such miscreants. Secretary Bar Association Jammu Mr. Abhinav Sharma said that the Association has decided to provide two days time to the law enforcing agencies for taking remedial measures. It has also decided to abstain from the routine work on these two days. Taking serious note of the incident, the BAJ has warned the Government, particularly the law enforcing agencies, to come out of their offices and protect the innocent people from such like incidents. It is obligatory for the law enforcing agencies to protect the life and liberty of the individual, provide security to the practicing lawyers and to withdraw the security from the unwanted elements, a BAJ handout said. The meeting chaired by the BAJ President Mr. Ved Raj Wazir also condemned the blast in Samjota express in which 66 innocent persons have lost their precious lives
