| Thousands of Gandhian’s vowed to come on streets against violence & bloodshed | | 2-minute silence observed at Gandhian congregation in Jammu to pay tributes to martyrs of Samjota Express | | Jammu, February 20 Gandhian workers in J&K State assembled at different district level and tehsil levels and observed 2-minute silence on gruesome blast of Samjota Express. The biggest congregation by Gandhian workers was held at Jammu which was chaired by Mr. S. P. Verma the president of the Forum. After observance of silence all Gandhian workers vowed to eradicate menace of violence and bloodshed from sub-continent for ever by spreading the love and brotherhood. The galaxy of intellectuals and writers, lawyers, doctors, prominent citizens, professors and students had assembled on the occasion. Mr. Verma renowned Gandhian while speaking to Gandhian workers said that very soon Roshni rally will be taken out in all parts of J&K state and people will be reminded the value of non-violence and truth and mutual co-existence. He said the time has come when people who are against violence should come on streets both Indian and Pakistan and join human chains to defeat nefarious designs of enemies of peace. He said that Gandhi himself became victim of violence but today his philosophy of non-violence is prevailing in entire globe. He said that during the frenzy of violence in 1947 Gandhi saw ray of hope in our state. And time has come to translate his hope into reality by rendering state as epitome of peace and tranquility. He said Gandhian workers have vowed to work hard for peace and end of violence in the state. “Gandhiji has preached non-violence and love. We have to spread his message through out the world and cultivate peace and harmony not only in the state, country at global level. Mr. Verma said Mahatma Gandhi’s message of non-violence and brotherhood is a universal message and relevant to all times. It is the message which guarantees world peace and progress”, he said. |
