| Nimesh chairs meeting on National Safety Week | | | Jammu, February, 20 With a view to create and reinforce awareness among all concerned in Industrial undertakings especially among workers about the importance of occupational Safety and Health, 36th National Safety Week is being celebrated in the state from March 4, 2007. Previously National Safety Day was celebrated on March 4, 2007 at different levels throughout the country to mark “The National Safety Council” foundation day. For over a decade, the campaign has been expanded as National Safety Week. The 36th National Safety Week is also being organized throughout the country from March 4, 2007. The campaign has to support of the Central as well as the State Governments throughout the country. In this connection, the Principal Secretary Labour and Employment, Mr. B. L. Nimesh held a meeting here today and issued directions to the participants from Health, Industries and Commerce, Labour and Employment and Information Departments for holding of seminars, workshops, exhibitions and issuance of special publications, messages in newspapers to observe the safety week in such a manner that the need for safe and healthy work conditions are effectively conveyed to all concerned. |
