| Two CRPF personnel killed in Militant Attack | | | SRINAGAR, FEB 20
Two CRPF Troopers were killed when unidentified militants fired upon the Road Opening Party (ROP) of 155 Bn CRPF at Sangam in Anantnag this morning. Meanwhile, unidentified gunmen shot and injured a person while pruning trees at Viza Kreeri.
According to reports, some unidentified militants fired with pistols upon ROP of 155 Bn CRPF at Sangam Chowk, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Bijbehara in South Kashmir. Two CRPF troopers were critically injured in the attack who later on succumbed to their injuries. The deceased troopers have been identified as HC Virender Kumar and Constable Vinod Kumar of 155Bn CRPF. A case in this regard has been registered in this regard and the hunt for killers was on when report last came in.
Meanwhile, one .303 rifle was recovered at Mattipora from the open fields of Mohammad Sabir Wani of Arabugh Anantnag. Police is investigating into the matter. In another incident, Khurshid Ahmad Sofi 28, son of Ghulam Ahmad, of Viza Wangoora was fired upon and injured by some unidentified gunman at Viza, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Kreeri. He was pruning popular trees at the time of incident. The injured has been hospitalized and case registered in this regard.
