| Swarankars demand OBC status, call on Azad | | | Jammu, February 21 Several deputations and individuals from various parts of the state called on Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad here today and presented to him their demands. A deputation of Swarankar Sangh led by Mr. K.L. Abrol called on Chief Minister and presented a memorandum to him listing their demands which included granting of OBC status to the Swarankar community, providing loan facilities and raw material to them besides generating employment avenues for the youth of the community. Another deputation from Bhadarwah called on Mr. Azad and urged for construction of Chinta-Thuba-Bhadarwah, Mathola and Ghatti-Ghuraka roads. They also pleaded for construction of link road to Kulsari besides setting up of a primary health centre at Manthla. They also pleaded for providing land compensation at enhanced rates to the farmers acquired for construction of roads and other development projects in the area. Other deputations that also called on Chief Minister and apprised him of their problems and development needs included from Poonch, Kokernag, Kathua and Gandoh. Chief Minister gave a patient hearing to the deputationists and assured that their demands would be looked into. |
