Azad assures employees to consider their demands sympathetically

Jammu, February 21
A joint deputation of Civil Secretariat (Non-gazetted) Employees Union, Employees Joint Action Committee Jammu, Employees Joint Action Committee Kashmir, Civil Secretariat Lower Grade Employees Union and other employees associations called on Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad here today and presented a memorandum of their demands.
President Civil Secretariat (Non-gazetted) Employees Union Mr. Nazir Ahmad Mir, Convenor Employees Joint Action Committee Jammu Mr. Anwar Baig, President Employees Joint Action Committee Kashmir Mr. Khurshid Alam Khan and leaders of other employees associations thanked Chief Minister for making a special provision of Rs. 200 crore in the state budget of next fiscal for meeting expenditure on account of DA, etc.
They also appreciated the historic decisions taken by the government including passing of Roshni legislation, creation of new administrative units, posting local officers at key posts, ensuring healthy work culture and taking anti-corruption measures and extended their whole-hearted support to Mr. Azad in making Jammu and Kashmir a prosperous state. They also lauded employees-friendly policies of Mr. Azad.
The demands putforth by them included enhancing retirement age from 58 years to 60 years, revival of LTC and medi-claim scheme and declaring Jammu and Srinagar as B-1 cities. Other demands projected by them included formulation of policy for regularization of contractual, consolidated and adhoc employees after completion of their five years service on the pattern of ReT scheme and reducing qualifying service for pensionary benefits. They also urged for re-employment of retrenched Class IV employees of Excise and Taxation Department.
Mr. Azad gave a patient hearing to them and assured that their demands would be looked into sympathetically.
Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Anil Goswami was also present on the occasion.
