| Students to have lectures on Humanitarian law soon: Peerzada | | | Jammu, February 21 The students in government schools would be soon having special study programme to intimate them about the humanitarian law. The programme being implemented with the assistance of International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) has also oriented some 36 senior level factuality members on the subject in two separate training sessions held at Gulmarag and Patnitop during the last year. The information was given at an informal meeting of Regional delegation of ICRC led by Mr. Frederique Bundry who called on the Minister for Education here today to present the report of training programmes conducted by the committee during last year. Secretary Education Mr. Khazer Mohammad Wani was also present on the occasion. It was agreed upon in the meeting that an interaction session with the stakeholders would be held in the month of April next where road map for the implementation and monitoring of the programme would be worked out. Presenting the report of the training programmes, Mr. Frederique expressed satisfaction over on the capacity building part stressed for implementation of the pilot programme in the schools during the next academic session. While appreciating the education department for extending whole hearted cooperation in furthering the programme, the delegation said that Jammu and Kashmir has turned up as a pioneer state in undertaking the pilot project by facilitating full involvement of the school education system. The members of the delegation said that there is a promising atmosphere in the state for taking forward the programme.
