| UTTA deputation call on DDC, presents memorandum | | | DODA FEB 21
A deputation of District Unemployed Technical Trade Association (UTTA) led by its President Fayaz Ahmed Butt called on the District Development Commissioner Dr. Pawan Kotwal here today and submitted a memorandum listing its demands .
The memorandum among other things demanded filling up of vacant posts of Technician III in Power Development Department. The delegation apprised the DDC that about 500 posts of the Technicians are presently lying vacant in the Power Development Department in the district and no appointment has been made since 1981 to 1995. However, during 1998 only 130 candidates were appointed as Technician III in district. The Association in a hand out said that 329 diploma holders are unemployed in the district at present and government has done little to absorb them against the available vacancies
The DDC, the handout claimed, is reported to have assured the delegation that their demand for absorption would be considered favorably.
Apart from the Association President, the delegation comprised Sheraz Ahmed Shinali, Shanti Bhushan Sharma, Jaffer Hussain, Omar Latief, Farooq Mohammad, Zaffarullah, Sunil Kumar Sharma, Arunjit Singh, Muzaffer Ahmed and Rashid Hussain.
