Police recovers 42 fake appointment letters, kingpin nabbed

Rajouri, Feb 21 Jammu and Kashmir Police today busted a gang involved in deceiving people in the name of recruiting them in belt forces in border district of Rajouri. The police also claimed to have recovered 42 such fake appointment letters from the king pin of the gang, who also happens to be a police constable. As per the preliminary investigations, they had charged about Rs 26 lakh from the youth on the promise to recruit them in Territorial Army.
Giving details, sources said, acting on specific information, SHO Rajouri picked up a police constable identified as Sanjiv Kumar, presently attached as PSO with superintendent Jail Dhangri and recovered at least 42 fake appointment letters he had issued to the unemployed candidates against Rs 50,000 from each. These appointment letters were prepared on behalf of 156 T A battalion of army.
Sources said, these appointment letters were issued to the candidates a month ago and were asked to wait till they are called by army unit for training which will be given to them at Ranchi. After waiting for a month, when the candidates did smell some thing wrong in the bottom, one of them approached to police and narrated the whole story. Going through the drafting and other contents of the letter, police swung into action and arrested the king pin of the gang Sanjiv Kumar, a police constable deployed with superintendent jail Dhangri as PSO. During the initial interrogation, the accused Sanjiv Kumar confessed that he along with four others had prepared these appointment letters on behalf of army and had charged Rs50,000 from each candidate for these appointments . On these revelations, police dispatched special teams to apprehend rest of the gang members, who had gone absconding after the arrest of their king pin.
“Yes we have picked up a person identified as Sanjiv Kumar a police constable who stands suspended. He is the king pin of the gang who duped the people with at least 26 lakh of rupees for providing them jobs in army”, K S Jasrotia , Deputy Superintendent of Police headquarters Rajouri told “Early Times " adding that more arrests will be made soon.
This is the second such gang busted in border district of Rajouri. Earlier, few months back, the police had busted a similar type of gang including a woman who had also duped the people with lakhs of rupees promising jobs in army. The gang had also prepared all the relevant documents of army including the stamps and letter pads of senior army officers.

NSUI hail Niaz’s candidature for MLC
DODA, FEB 21-- National Student Union of India has hailed the decision of the Chief Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad, AICC President and UPA Chairperson Mrs Sonia Gandhi for announcing the candidature of Mohammed Sharief Naiz against one of the available seats in the State Legislative Council.
The NSUI in its meeting held with its President Mohammed Sajid Malik in chair described it a aright decision and hoped that Niaz would be elected with majority of votes.
Addressing the meeting R R.Dar District Press Secretary said that Niaz has always worked for the people of the area whether in power and outside and hoped that he would continue to serve the people with same vigour in future also. He called upon the people especially the youth to strengthen the hands of the Chief Minister for bringing complete peace and normalcy in the trouble torn state..
Among others who were present at the meeting included Younis, Rashid, Mohsin Malik, Ruhnaz, Fiza Khan, Anjum, Sanjeet Kumar and Pintu .
