| College teachers calls on VC | | | JAMMU | FEB 21 A deputation of Jammu and Kashmir College Teachers’ Association (JKCTA, Jammu Wing) led by Ajeet Angral, President of the association today called on Prof Amitabh Matto, VC, University of Jammu and presented a memorandum him. The deputation urged the VC to associate college teachers in the capacities in which they have traditionally served in the university. It was further suggested that qualified and experienced college teachers should be associated with departments like Physical Education, Central Library, Academic Staff and Directorate of Distance Education. Issues taken up by the association included issuing of notification regarding standing annual schedule for admission, conduct of examinations, evaluation, declaration of results, Display your talent, inter-college sports events, and so and so forth. It was also suggested in the meeting that a workshop should be organized in which representatives of the University, Principals and College teachers should sit together in the brain storming session, to deliberate on the issues which are in the interest of students, teachers, institutions of higher learning and society as a whole. The VC appreciated the manner in which the problems were presented by the deputation and assured them that he would take personal interest in addressing these issues in fairness and to the satisfaction of all. Others who were present in the meeting include Prof. Anju Arora, Prof. Asha Abrol, Prof. Mohd. Zaman Choudhary, Prof. M.S. Pathania, Prof. Neeraj Sharma and Prof Karan Singh.
