UDHAMPUR, Feb 18: A three-day zonal level Inter-Battalions and Operation Groups Volleyball tournament of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), organised by 137 Bn, got underway at SRTC Complex, here today.
The competition was declared open by Commandant of 187 Bn, Manoj Kumar Sharma, who was chief guest. Opening match was played between 187 and 76 Bn.
Speaking to the participants and other distinguished gathering, the chief guest said that the tournament has been organized to provide a platform to the jawans to excel besides extending them an opportunity to entertain through the medium of games.
In all, 15 teams representing Jammu based units of CRPF, including Group Centre Bantalab Jammu, are taking part in this knock-out competition.
The opening match was officiated by Sanjay Sharma and Naveen Sharma of the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS).
Prominent among those present in the opening function were Commandant of host 137 Bn, Mukesh Kumar Sharma, Deputy Commandant, 137 Bn, Nirmal Singh and Assistant Commandant, KP Sudha. |
