| JU employees suspend their ongoing strike | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 18: Class IV Employee Union and Casual Labourers of University of Jammu, who were staging protest for the last fifteen days, today suspended their strike temporarily. All the employees today gathered in front of Administration Block and amid sloganeering in favour of their demands the protestors staged a protest march within University campus. "At 12:30 PM, the Vice Chancellor of University Jammu came in the gathering with Registrar of the University with an agreement for cancelling the token strike," the spokesperson of union said. He added that as per Vice Chancellor he himself had read the demands of the employees and assured that he is going to fulfill all the demands particularly the matter of regularization of Casual labourers/daily wagers/safai kar-amcharies before the 74th University Council. "Thus in view of his due support, the NGEU president Krishan Chand suspended the ongoing strike for some time. He however cautioned the authorities if the demands are not fulfilled within the time limit, the employees will be forced to convert token strike to further intensify. Meanwhile he thanked to Suresh Sharma State President, J&K People Democratic Trade Union and others organizations for their moral support and cooperation to the union.
