Husband, three others arrested for burning mother of two

Rajouri, Feb 18: Nowshera police have arrested a husband, his mother and two married sisters for allegedly killing his wife after pouring kerosene oil. The incident had taken place in village Rajal of Nowshera tehsil on February,10 and the victim was referred to GMC hospital on February,12. The victim identified as Foujia Kousher, 25 died in the hospital in Jammu today. A case under section 307 RPC was registered by the police after recording Foujia's statement immediately after the incident and all the accused involved in the heinous crime went under ground.
After the death of the victim the case was converted to 302 RPC, a murder and police swung into action and arrested all the accused today. They have been identified as Asad Khan, husband of Foujia, his mother Razia Begam and his two married sisters Rubina Kousher and Naseema Kousher. "All the accused involved in the crime have been arrested by the police from their hide outs" said Javed malik . The body of Foujia was btought to Dalogra (Rajouri) by her parents for her last rites. They alleged that their daughter was tortured and killed by all the accused and demanded stern action against them.
As per the statement f the victim recorded in the presence of a magistrate she was first beaten up by her husband later she was taken to a room where all the four poured kerosene on her and put on fire.
While she was crying for help her 3 years old son reportedly tried to come near her and also received burn injuries and is under treatment at Jammu. The couple have a son and a daughter and were married about three years ago.
"Whether it was a dowry death or another reason that led to this heinous crime, is a matter of investigation. The victim in her statement before a magistrate had alleged she was first beaten by her husband whothen poured kerosene on her with the help of his mother and two sisters" said Purshotam Sharma , ASP.
