| Rail service resumed | | Life normal after nine days | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Feb 18 Life returned to normal in Kashmir valley on Monday after nine days of complete shutdown and curfew following the execution of Mohammad Afzal Guru in Delhi's Tihar Jail on February 9. Shops, other businesses, educational institutions and public transport started normally in the morning while the roads and markets of Srinagar and other parts of the Valley including Apple Town Sopore bustled with activity today as private and public transport plied after nine days. Transport on all routes was plying normally and railway also resumed its normal run connecting south with north Kashmir via Srinagar. Usual traffic jams on almost all routes, particularly in the uptown and civil lines, was seen as signs of normalcy with all shops and business establishments doing normal business. The streets of Srinagar witnessed heavy rush and shopkeepers were seen busy. After the execution of Guroo, Hurriyat (G) and other separatist groups had called for strike to mourn his death while as the State Government had imposed unabated curfew all across the Kashmir. |
