| Jan Loktantrik Party stages protest against frequent power cuts | | |
Kathua, Feb 18: Local residents of Shivanagar W-16 of Kathua today staged protest against the PDD authorities alleging that the concerned department has failed to provide regular supply of power to the area for several days.
Led by Jan Loktantrik Party Ranjeet Singh the locals protested against power shortage and demanded regular power supply. To register their protest the people blocked the road in front of Shivanagar Morh for an hour. While speaking on the occasion the agitated residents accused the PDD Kathua for adding to their woes. They alleged that XEn PDD though has assured them for streamlining the system but nothing yet has been done in this regard.
On the occasion Ranjeet Singh said that the cut-off of electricity have been started for the last eight months power shortages become gradually more severe later. Thereafter Kathua police team led by Dy SP Daljeet Singh rushed to the spot and pacified the protestors and it was his assurance after which the protestors lifted the their protest and let traffic movement resumed. |
