| Broader public interest, necessity to be criteria for new projects: Wani | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 18 : Minister for R&B, Abdul Majid Wani today said that broader public interest and necessity has been kept as the criteria for sanctioning and execution of Road and Bridges (R&B) department projects. The Minister was responding to various demands put forth by deputations from various districts of Jammu Province regarding provision for proper road connectivity, especially in hilly and remote areas of Kishtwar, Reasi, Poonch, Rajouri, Doda, etc. Wani reiterated that the districts and areas with low road connectivity percentage would be given top priority so that the dream of equitable development of all regions and sub-regions of the State is realized. A deputation from district Kishtwar, led by Member Pradesh Congress Committee, M. A. Malik, Block President Palmar, Dev Raj alongwith Sarpanches from Marwah, Warwan and other areas today felicitated Mr. Wani for taking over as the R&B Minister in the coalition government. The members of the Deputation expressed their gratitude to UPA Chairperson, Mrs Sonia Gandhi and Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Mr Ghulam Nabi Azad for the decision. The R&B Minister further assured the delegation that their genuine demands would be given due consideration. He directed the concerned authorities to examine the demands and start the execution process at an earliest. |
