| PUBLICITY CAMPAIGN ON IODINE DEFICIENCY | | | JAMMU | Feb 23
The Doda unit of Directorate of Field Publicity , Government of India in close co-ordination with ICDS, Education, Health and Family Welfare Department and NGOs has launched an intensive publicity campaign on "National Iodine Deficiency Disorder Control" Programme and Aids Awareness in Doda district.
As part of this campaign, the Unit organised a Women Meet at Child Development Project Office Complex-Thathri under the chairmanship of Sh. Babura Baghat, CDPO Thathri. An inter-zone Symposium on the Topic "Safe Motherhood/Adolescent Age and NIDDCP" was organised in which 8 Anganwadi Workers drawn from different zones participated and expressed their views. Resource persons from the concerned departments delivered lectures on the topic and made people aware about the importance of Iodised Salt.
The Unit also organised a Seminar on " Iodine Deficiency Disorders" at CDPO Office Complex- Gundna at Prem Nagar under the chairmanship of CDPO, Sh. Mohd. Riaz Khan. Anganwadi workers drawn from various ICDS centres took part in the Symposium and expressed their views. A large number of local ladies, Anganwadi workers and Trainees of Self-Help Groups witnessed the Programme.
