| Arya Samaj demands protection of its property | | | JAMMU | FEB 23 Expressing serious concern over the callous attitude of the government in allowing vested interests to do away with the Arya Samaj property at Rainawari, the executive committee of the Arya Samaj Rainawari Srinagar, has urged the concerned authorities to stop these vested interests from selling the property. The meeting chaired by senior most Arya Samaji Bikshu Vedvachaspati Janki Nath Jigyasu at Ved Mandir here today said that the property included DAV Higher Secondary Naidyar, Arya Samaj Mandir building at Ghat Jogi Lanker and Radsha Krishen Arya Swadhaya Bhawan at Motiryar Rainawari. The organization warned that if government failed to check this trend, the organization would launch nation wide campaign and educate countrymen about the ground situation in the Valley. Secretary of the organization Upender Krishen Bhat said crores of property belonging to the Arya Samaj has become an eye sore for vested interests, who are bent upon disposing off the said property. Chairperson of the Women’s wing Mrs Rajni expressed her concern over the attempts by some vested interests to do away with the Arya Samaj property at Karan Nagar and Bharav Asthapan at Maisuma in Srinagar. The meeting urged the government to restore the property to the Samaj and also ensure its proper upkeep and protection. Those who attended the meeting included former Secretary Jawahar Lal Koul, Dr Om Parkash Razdan, Hirday Nath, Ashok Raina, Pramodh Durani, Avtar Krishen Zutshi, Inder Krishan Langer, Jawahar Lal Bangroo and Rajinder Handoo.
