| J&K Power employees threaten strike on March 5 | | | Jammu | Feb 23 All Jammu and Kashmir Power Employees Associations today threatened to go on strike on March 5 if their demands are not met by the Government by the end of the current month. Addressing a press conference here today, Shakti Gupta, Mohammed Shafi Dar and Jasbir Singh Association leaders said that due to the apathetic attitude of the state authorities the power employees in both the region were suffering a lot. They said the Power Minister has assured that the demands will be met before the end of the current month and added if the authorities failed to concede their demands, the employees will be forced to take some harsh steps for which the responsibility would lie on the government, these leaders added. The employees are among other things demanding extension of 149 SRO benefits to all ITI. Matriculates and non I.T.I. Matriculates, grant of INSITU promotions, risk allowance on the pattern of employees of various departments like Police, Health and Government Press apart from grant of two and a half days salary, reorganization of lthe department holding of departmental promotion committee meetings.
