| GWC organizes workshop on career management | | | Jammu | Feb 23 Centre of Adult Continuing Education and Extension (placement cell), University of Jammu in collaboration with Government Degree College for Women, Parade organized workshop on enhancing “career management and job skills” here today in which about 200 students from different departments participated. The aim of the workshop was to enhance the employability skills of the students to make them competent and to prepare them to challenge the stiff competition at the national level. The morning session was focused on understanding the career planning process, preparing the career plan for one-self, understanding the need of the employee and job market and how to create a bridge between existing and desired skills. Career Director and Clinical Psychologist, acted as the Chief resource persons in the workshop. Prof Indira Rathore, Principal of the college welcomed the eminent experts and highlighted the need for providing career concelling opportunities to the students. Prof. Poonam Dhawan, Director Centre for Adult/continuing education and extension presenting a profile of student placement cell said that University has started a series of continuing education programs to build students’ competency in career management and job search. Others who were present on the occasion were Priyanka Sharma, Raj Kumar, Seema Mir and Sita Anand.
