Rajouri-Poonch People’s Welfare Forum (RPPWF) highlighted the various issues and raises many demands against the discrimination done to the twin borders district by the state govt. as disclosed by Advocate Tahir Khurshid Raina, Chairman of the Forum in a press meet here at Press Club today.
Raina said that foe the last sixty years this region is suffering for lack of adequate development in all spheres of life. Rajouri-Poonch region having ten lakhs populations with a separate historical, political, cultural and linguistic identity needs to be given effective representation in all spheres which till date has been ignored. Every sector gives a poor look for which successive governments and regional leadership is responsible. He also blamed the state-central leadership for dividing the region on various considerations for their vested interests. He said that these twin districts should be declared as the fourth region of the state because of its historical, linguistic and cultural identity. These districts should have given the status of Autonomous Status like Leh and Kargil.

He warned the state govt. that if this amount will not be utilized properly for route, the forum will launched agitation. The forum also demands increase in Assembly Seats besides separate Parliamentary Seats.
