| Another smuggler lands in lockup | | | Srinagar | Feb 23
Another timber smuggler landed up in police custody today when he was caught red handed by a team of forest department while smuggling 25 slippers of Deodar in Rafiabad area of district Baramulla.
According to reports, a team of Forest Division Langate led by DFO Mir Mushtaq laid a special naka at Hyderpora in the outskirts of Rafiabad, late last night. The naka party reportedly arrested one Muhammad Hussain Khan who was smuggling timber from the area. At least 25 Deodar slippers were recovered from the smuggler, who was handed over to police. Divisional Forest Officer Langate, Mir Mushtaq said that the department has seized 7100 Deodar clefts worth Rs 90 lacks, in the year2005-06.
