| Avinash Bhatia receives Rajiv Gandhi award | | | Jammu | Feb 23
Jammu and Kashmir Gandhian Society has conferred Rajiv Gandhi excellence award to Mr. Avinash Bhatia, a young and an enthusiastic social worker and youth activist, who has rendered excellent service in the field of Sadhbhawna and communal amity between various sections of the society.
Acknowledging the stupendous task of young Bhatia and with a view to encouraging him to further intensify his endeavours in this direction as cherished by Mahatma Gandhi, Gandhian society awarded Mr. Bhatia with the prestigious award.
The award carried gold medal, a shawl, certificate and a lifesize portrait of late Rajiv Gandhi.
The award was given away by Minister for Health and Medical Education Mr. Mangat Ram Sharma at an impressive function held here.
The function was attended by great number of prominent citizens, Gandhian workers, teachers, media persons, students and others.
Mr. Sharma highlighting the role of Gandhian society said that conferring award to the deserving social worker like Mr. Bhatia would prove encouragement to the young social activist and also inspire others to work in this field. |
