Various deputations call on Azad

A large number of deputations and individuals from Marwah, Kokernag, Sunderbani, Chirala, Poonch, Bhalessa, Kathua, Samba, Bhadarwah and other far-flung areas of the state called on Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad here today and presented to him their demands.
The deputationists lauded creation of new administrative units, enactment of Roshni bill and other visionary, historic and bold decisions taken by Mr. Azad, adding that these steps would help in fast realizing goal of highly developed and prosperous state in the country envisioned by Chief Minister.
A deputation from Marwah called on Mr. Azad and urged for speedy construction of Margantop-Inshan and Nowapachi-Patimahal-Marwah roads. Other demands projected by the deputation included execution of Pakaldul and Bursar hydel projects, provision of telecommunication facilities in the area, helicopter service to Marwah during winter months and on-the-spot recruitment in police for youth of the area.
The deputation led by Mr. Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh also pleaded for opening of an industrial training institute at Marwah, upgradation of middle school at Chinjar and girls middle school at Yourdo to high schools level and girls primary school at Nawapachi and primary school at Qaderna to middle schools level. They also urged for providing more staff for higher secondary school at Marwah and high school at Dharna.
Another deputation of Low Paid Employees Federation led by Mr. Abdul Majid Khan called on Chief Minister and urged him for enhancing retirement age of employees from 58 to 60 years, raising medical allowance from Rs. 300 to Rs. 500 per month, providing interim relief and regularization of all daily wagers who have completed 7 years of service.
The memorandum submitted by the deputation also listed other demands like enhancing honourarium of nambardars and village chowkidars besides increasing wages of daily wagers to Rs. 100 per day.
A deputation from Bhalessa area called on Chief Minister and presented to him their demands which included construction of Chilli road, upgradation of high school at Chilli to higher secondary level, setting up of a primary health centre at Chilli and upgradation of health and educational institutions in the area.
The deputation led by Haji Mohammad Yousuf also pleaded for ensuring mobile telephone facility and augmenting power supply in the area besides enhancing road connectivity.
Another deputation from Samba led by JKPCC General Secretary Mr. Vinod Mishra called on Mr. Azad and thanked him for creating Samba district. They said that creation of new administrative units will speed up process of infrastructure and socio-economic development across the state.
The demands putforth by the deputationists included payment of wages of workers of Basantar social forestry project and their adjustment besides developing third phase of industrial growth centre at Samba on available government land instead of acquiring agricultural land or residential area for the purpose.
A deputation from Chirala area called on Mr. Azad and urged for creation of Chirala rural development block. They also pleaded for construction of Chirala road and establishing primary health centre in Chirala besides upgradation of local high school to higher secondary level. They also urged for upgradation of several primary and middle schools to middle and high school levels and augmenting power supply in the area.
All the deputationists who called on Chief Minister today lauded his revolutionary Roshni act which is aimed to provide free land rights to poor farmers and they also informed Mr. Azad that a wave of happiness is prevailing in all nooks and corners of the state as a result of his people-oriented gestures.
Chief Minister gave a patient hearing to the deputationists and said that their demands would be looked into.
