| Army organizes seminar on women empowerment | | | ET Plus Report
Samba, Mar 3: A seminar on empowerment of women was organised by 23 Grenadiers under aegis of Sunrise Brigade today at the Grinder Sainik Institutes of 23 Grenadiers. Wide publicity for the same was given in the area of responsibility and the neighbouring villages of Samba district and overwhelming response was reciprocated by the public. Razia, Field Agent of Jammu & Kashmir State Women Development Corporation delivered a lecture on the various State and Central Govt schemes offered to women in the process of their empowerment and overall development.
Total of 87 ladies from 10 villages attended the seminar out of which 14 veer naris also participated and 03 Sarpachs along with 08 male members of villages Garwal, Guraslathia and Badori also attended the seminar.
The initiative of the Army as part of their involvement with empowering and enabling ex-servicemen, veer naris and other members of society was appreciated by the villagers. The participants expressed their desire for more such interaction. |
