JAMMU, Feb 27: The Customs and Central Excise won both singles and doubles titles in the table tennis event of the ongoing Annual Sports Meet of Centre Government employees, organized by Central Government Employees Welfare Coordination Committee (CGEWCC) at IIIM Sports Complex, here today.
In the singles final, Ajay Thakral of Customs and Excise defeated Chand Raina of IIIM in straight sets in the final. The score: 11-02, 11-04, 12-10. Later the doubles final was won by the pair of Ajay Thakral and S K Gupta, who trounced the duo of Kuldeep and Sat Pal Rawat, again from Customs and Excise 2-1 (11-04, 08-11, 11-07) sets. Meanwhile, the badminton event of the ongoing meet shall start tomorrow at RRL School indoor sports complex.
The table tennis competition held under the supervision of Committee members, Ashok Chada, B S Bhan, PS Jamwal, Shashi Jamwal, Sunil Chakoo and Anoop Magotra.
