JAMMU, Feb 27: Jammu and Kashmir Indian Wrestling Association today named its state team for participation in the All India Invitational Championship and Bharat Kesari title to be held at Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh from February 28 to March three. Earlier, the selected wrestlers underwent a coaching camp and screening process of the State Sports Council. Soon after the final selection, the team left for the venue. The team is comprised of seven wrestlers in as many weight categories. The Team: Sachin Kumar (51 kg Samba), Shami (55 kg, Jammu), Rohit Kumar (60 kg, Jammu), Aniyat Ali (66 kg, Jammu), Rakesh Kumar (74 kg, Jammu), Gopal Sharma (84 kg, Jammu), Sujjan Ali (96 kg, Jammu). Mulkh Raj Sharma (coach), Prem Kumar (Manager) and Bansi Lal Tidyal (technical official). Meanwhile, the president of J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association thanked the Sports Council for the helping hand. He announced that the gold winner in this event will be awarded with Rs 31,000 while the silver medalist will be honoured with Rs 11,000 by the Association.
