| IIIM holds annual flower painting competition | | | ET Plus Report
Jammu, Mar 3: Two week long, 47th Annual Flower Show and Kissan Mela organised by Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM) was inaugurated here today. On the inaugural day a painting competition was held in which about two hundred students of various schools participated and displayed their talent. Secretary IIIM Dr S Chandra was chief on the occasion whereas Joint Secretary IIIM V K Khanna presided over the competition. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Chandra empathized on skill development of children with academic knowledge. He appealed the parents to encourage their child for opting creative arts like painting, acting, dancing and singing as hobbies so they are able to think beyond the textbooks. While interacting with media, Khanna said, "We should teach our children about the importance of nature from very early age and encourage them to participate in this competition." He also informed that winners of all competition will be felicitated in maga Kissan Mela on March 17 at Chatta Farms. |
